Drone Swarm Attacks - Terrorist Attacks We Are Concerned Will Eventually Appear
Technological advances have promoted the adaptability of terrorist attack strategies and tactics. Based on intelligent and non-contact strategies, civil drones may become an important means of new terrorist attacks and asymmetric warfare. As a mobile platform, information platform and armed platform for terrorist attacks, the civil drone will develop into a high-level threat if effective measures are not taken from the aspects of supervision and prevention, target detection, regional rejection, interruption and destruction.
The flying altitude of small drones is usually less than 1,000 meters, the flying speed is less than 200 kilometers per hour, and the radar reflection area is less than 2 square meters. Because of their low altitude, small size, complex low altitude environment and ground object occlusion, small drones can be hardly detected by most radar and detection equipment. Drones have become powerful weapons for asymmetric warfare as they are low-cost, efficient, safe and easy to manipulate, and are hardly detectable.
"Drone Swarm" is one of the major directions for future development of drones, and also one of the subversive technologies of future warfare. From low-cost drone cluster warfare to future intelligent drone swarm, drones will integrate many functions to undertake combat tasks such as reconnaissance and surveillance, deception bait, ground attack, target guidance and fire guidance, thus becoming the "generalist" of the future battlefield.
Low-cost and easy to operate, the drone platform consists of satellite navigation, remote control and fixed-point delivery technology which can be easily accessed through many open channels. Suicide drones can patrol, carry deadly weapons, evade the air defense system and destroy the ground facilities. This cluster attack of drones will pose a fatal threat.
